The Best Family Ever

My family are by far the most important people to me in this whole entire world. They are hands down always there for me, even when they don't agree with how I am feeling or what I am doing. We all have those conditional friends who are there for you when it's convenient for them, but my family is unconditional. They will tell me when I need to change, and I love them enough to always try my hardest to take their advice. I look up to them in all things, and know that I need to be the kind of example that they can look up to. Growing up, people would often say to me, "your family must just be putting on a good show in public because no family loves each other like you guys do." Well, we may not be perfect, and we often make dumb mistakes, but we have always loved each other that much, and I am so so thankful for them. They are the best. So hear are a few pictures of the most amazing family in the whole entire world.... I will post some more later.

Lucy and I at Dirkies Lake. I may be a little bit biased, but I think she is so beautiful....

This is Mika taking her swimming test so she could swim in the deep end of Dirkies. She did a great job passing. Darbi, my younger niece who is only 6 took it too. She almost passed. Next year Doobs!!!!
This is Logan fishing at Dirkies. You wouldn't think it, but this little man is pretty patient when there is a fish on the line!!!!
Jon isn't super big into fishing, but he did it because he knows I like doing it... He is the only one that "almost" caught something.

My amazing Brother and Sister. We were all are Jared and Bailey's beautiful wedding in Mackay Idaho. I don't know what I would ever do without these two in my life. Not only are they so fun to be around, but I know that no matter what it is, they always have my back. Love you guys!!!

More to come!!!

The new house and all the pojects that come with it!

We have loved our new house so much, it has been such a great blessing. Its also been alot of work. I didn't realize how much went into a home. Projects we have accomplished are:

1. With the big help of steve jackson, we got our spinkler system put in. (Thanks uncle steve) We love ya. Oh and a big shout to Yvette (she makes some dang good breakfast patatos. MMMMMM.

2. We put in our sod. You can't see in this picture, but it is now there.

3. WE are now working on finishing the dog run. WE are getting a new dog. Well, he's five, and he's my lil bro's dog. But he's new to us... Thanks Bob, Logan can hardly wait.

Below are a few more pics of our bottom floor. When we finally get the bedroom decorated like we want them, then I will post some more pictues....
Our office/playroom/guest room
Our Kitchen ( which I totally love). It turned out perfect ( to us anyway).
The dinning room. I sits right in the middle of our kitchen and family room. Nomatter what room you are in, you never miss out on family stuff.
Our family room. Notice our big TV, and then the getto bunny ears sticking out next to it. I know ( we are pretty classy).

So there it is. It has been such a great blessing, I still can't believe that it gets to by ours. I even have loved all the projects that have come with it. and more fun to come....

Pittard's unfortunate events

Logan Skiing at Bogus Basin. ... Story below
Logan's Broken and swollen thumb.... Story Below

Well Jon had a four day weekend so we decided to go to Boise to see our family's and to take the kids skiing at Bogus. This was a much anticipated trip, especially by our little four year old who loves visiting his grandma's and papa's. The weekend finally arrived and just hours before we were to leave I started getting this feeling in my gut that we shouldn't go. So naturally I went to Jon's office to try to talk him out of it. We ended up going up anyway because we wanted to see Jon's bro before he moved to Arizona. Right off the bat the weekend started going bad. My brother couldn't be there, my sister had plans, we spent most of our day friday at a baby shower, which was fun, but a lot of work. Then Saturday came, Bogus time. We put everything in the car (or so we thought) and headed up the mountain. The mood just started off terrible anyway for some reason, but it got even worst when we finally got up the mountain and realized that we had forgotten all of our snow gear at my parents house. We almost just left, but somehow managed to get just enough gear out of Brenda and Bruce's van to be able to stay. So finally we get on the mountain, take a couple runs and realize that the kiddo's are hungry. This is where the weekend hit an all time low. On our way up the grated stair to get to the lodge, Logan slipped on the stairs and Jonathan stepped on his thumb with his ski boot and broke it in three different places. Jon of course feels terrible, but it was such a freak accident and happened so fast that there was nothing he could have done to prevent it. It broke all the way down the length of the bone and crushed the knuckle into pieces. So now Logan needs surgery and we decided to do it in Boise with a much recommended hand surgeon. We are home safe now, but will be returning to Boise next weekend to get the surgery. Wish Logan Luck, he has been such a brave kiddo. Anyway, we have gained something from these experiences and that is not to sweat the small stuff. The only important things are the safety and health our family, our children, and friends. Things like forgotten bags and bad timing with family are just unfortunate events not to get worked up about. Well, we will post how the surgery went, please say prayers for our little man.

Husbands at Church!

Today was the first day that I have ever gone to church without an adult family member, it was just me and the kiddo's. Jon had to work because the other provider in his office wanted to watch the super bowl (which I get), but now we are spending our Sunday daddy-less. I have to admit, I don't love going to church without Jon, but something good came out of this situation, and that was the realization that not only does Jon help me so much with the kids, but I just love getting to sit with him in sacrament and Sunday school. When he is with me, I only end up spending half of sacrament in the hall, and during class he always cracks little jokes that give me the giggles ( which originally I thought was emberassing) but it has become quite the game to see if I can actually hold it in and not make a scene. Also, I wish he were here taking a Sunday nap with me, he's so snuggly. Well actually he hates it when I snuggle, my body temp is like a warewolf, but he lets me do it anyway because he knows how much I like it. Well, here's a cheers to my amazing husband, without him my world would be a little less comfortable and a lot less fun.

Perfection?

I caught myself telling my sister-in-law the other day how "vomiticious" it made me feel to read blogs about "how wonderful everybody's husbands are, and how their kids are so perfect." I mean, can they really be that perfect? Do your days really go that un-flawed? I could just feel the envy ooze out of my judgmental pours. It was this fairly hideous feeling that forced me into unwanted reflection. How could I feel this way? My life is filled with more blessing and more happiness than one could ever dream of, but certainly, my life is not perfect. Then it came to me, I was being silly. These people's lives aren't perfect either, their husbands do have flaws, but what makes them a uniquely gracious people is that they simply choose not to focus on the negative. They have chosen to focus on the good, and reward it by saying beautiful things about those wonderful simple moments. I GET IT.... From the bottom of my heart... I GET IT.... Oh how I wish I caught on quicker.

Anyway, it is my hope that my blog can be more uplifting towards my family, especially my amazing husband! Also, I need to thank all those bloggers who have served as such a great example on how to show appreciation to the most important people in our lives. I'm sorry I ever underestimated your sincerity.

I guess Goethe said it best when he said " Who is the happiest of man? He who values the merits of others and in their pleasure takes joy, even as though it was his own."

So to that, I am happy that in such and imperfect world, you have such remarkably perfect moments. It will be my greatest pleasure to share with you some of mine.

Logan and Lucy's first ski trip!

Jon and I took the kids on their first skiing trip this weekend. They both did so great. Lucy may still be a bit young, her legs were just not yet strong enough, but even so she never cried and neither did Logan. Logan proved to be a born natural skier. It took him maybe 30 minutes of listening to us try to teach him what to do before he got fed up and said, "guys just let me go, I can do it myself." We were astonished when he actually made it down the hill with some form of control. Pretty soon he was going through loop obstacles and turning to dodge other skiers. Anyway, it was a great trip and we can't wait to take them again.

OUR NEW HOME

We finally did it..... WE ARE BUILDING A HOUSE..... I am out of my mind excited. We looked forever, but just couldn't find the house that fit our needs and personality, so here it is, and I love it. It's not huge, but it's JUST RIGHT.

Front view: We are lanscaping on our own to save a little, so if anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them.
Logans Room: Lucy's looks just like it so I didn't post a picture, but once again, could use ideas for decorating kids rooms.

Master Bath: Not a great angle, but there is a toliet with it's own door to the side and a walk in closet on the other side.

Master Bedroom: Our window looks out right over a field where they let off fireworks after Thanksgiving! I know, what a strange time of year to let off fireworks, but wow, what a perk!

Stairs: You can't see it, but the stairs fan out at the bottom and its cute.

Office/ guest bed: So Jon and I haven't completely come to an agreement on what this room will be, but so far we have settled on office/playroom/guest room. It's not that big of a room...

Kitchen: I love our kitchen, it's so open. I can't wait until everything is in it.

Living room: I love our fireplace. I keep having visions of sipping hot chocolate and reading a good novel infront of the fire. I've never done that, how great would that be...
WELL THERE IT IS. I LOVE IT I LOVE IT. CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY FAMILY IN IT, AND THEN IT WILL BE PERFECT!!!!

Pittard Family Chirstmas

Alot has happened at the Pittard house in the last month, and I haven't blogged a bit of it. I was going to put all the pictures in this one blog, but I decided that I didn't have the time or patience to do it. So I am going to post them in segments, and hope that I finish posting all of them. Anyway, I wanted to start with the Pittard Family Christmas. We had so much fun being with family, the Pittards are so amazing. There was alot of video game playing, sports, a talent show and Keri, brenda and I got to go out for gluten free brownie and ice cream at the Outback. We also went to the batanical gardens in down town Boise. It was so beautiful, there were lights everywhere, and the boys and lucy had so much fun. Thanks Pittards for the amazing time, the laugher nearly never ceases when we are with you. We love you so much......

Batanical Gardens (PRETTTTTTY)

Don't they look like statues. Well they are not, they are real.... REAL CUTE!!!! (Okay that was cheesy).

Jen sporting her clown costume during the Pittard Family Fashion Show. Melody always enlists the willing to do something slightly embarassing, and Jen is the sort of person that would do anything to make her sister happy. Plus she makes us laugh in the process.

Logan and Jon at the Botanical Gardens. I love the men in my family. So Handsome!

Logan felt that this statue was meant for sitting on. I didn't think it was a terrible thing either, but a lady standing behind me told her daughter very loudly that "statues were for looking at, not for sitting on." So I did the best thing a parent in my situation could do. I told him to get off.... Just as soon as I took his picture.... Sorry Batanical Gardens, I will try to keep my unruley child under control next time.

Lucy loves her uncle Matt. She always want his full attention. Thanks Matt for being such a great uncle.

I just loved this picture of Matt and Keri and the boys. They were totally caught off guard! Don't hate me for putting it in here. I don't even think they read my blog, but I loved it to much, it shows all there fun characters...

A self Portrait of the hubby and me. I really liked this one, we never take good pictures, but this one I think is pretty ok.
Jeff wearin Jens hat. Super cute Jeff, I love it... But I'm not sure I love it as much as this next picture..

Pittards always teases me about my Idaho City "Hick" Roots. Matt, I think you would fit in pretty good up ther in them hills..

And poor Jon, he was destined after almost 6 years of marriage to finally come over to the dark side of the ways of the Hick..

Jen you look pretty

There's nothing cuter than a naked baby...
Once again, great christams, full of family, joy and laughter. I would not change a think about it.
Love you all, and please don't be mad at the pictures I chose. I promise, there were a bunch of normal ones, but others were not nearly as fun...
